Composite Bonding Bournemouth We offer composite bonding, a 'minimally invasive' cosmetic dental procedure

Composite bonding is a very popular artistic dental treatment to achieve beautiful cosmetic results for minor to medium imperfections. It is a ‘minimally invasive’ treatment, where a tooth-coloured resin is applied to the surface of your teeth to repair chips, close gaps, or alter tooth shape.

Why Composite Bonding?

Composite Bonding is highly popular because it is minimally invasive. It typically requires no drilling, no anaesthetic, and can be completed in a single dental visit. It’s quick, painless, and affordable to fix minor cosmetic imperfections.

The dentist carefully sculpts, hardens, and polishes the composite material, allowing for a natural-looking smile enhancement often completed in just one painless visit.

At Dentistry on the Grove, we provide composite bonding across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the surrounding areas.

Some of our Composite Bonding work

We have delighted many patients with our composite bonding cases. Below are a few examples of specific cases.
Sometimes composite bonding will be used as part of an overall smile refresh, alongside other treatments such a short Invisalign to straighten teeth. Teeth Whitening may also be used to brighten the smile and then composite bonding completes the smile, touching up teeth edges to achieve a beautifully balanced smile.

0% Finance

We offer Finance. You can cover the cost of any treatment with a value of £500 or more on 0% finance for periods up to 60 months.

It’s simple to set up using an easy online application. Just ask our reception team who’ll be happy to help.

When is composite bonding suitable?

There are several circumstances when Composite Bonding may be recommended to enhance your smile including to:

  • Repair Damage – Smooth over chips, cracks, or worn-down edges
  • Close Gaps – Fill small spaces between teeth without braces
  • Reshape / lengthen – Make uneven, pointy, or short teeth look more uniform and symmetrical
  • Hide Discolouration – Cover deep stains that cannot be fixed by standard teeth whitening

When is composite bonding not suitable?

Composite bonding is excellent for minor, quick fixes, but it has some physical limitations in terms of strength and stain resistance compared to other dental treatments.

  • Alternatives to composite bonding, such as dental veneers or dental crowns may be recommended when your teeth require more support. Broken teeth or teeth with large chips may need a stronger solution such as a veneer or a crown
  • Sometimes a course of teeth straightening such as Invisalign may be recommended to shift the teeth into the correct position before composite bonding can be carried out to reshape, rebalance and touch up the teeth

Your dentist will be delighted to explore your Smile expectations with you and recommend the best treatment or combination of treatments for your perfect smile.

I have been coming to see Dr Amy Baers and last July started Invisalign treatment. I had always thought my teeth were far too crooked for straightening. Amy convinced me otherwise and over the course of 9 months Amy achieved incredible results. I now have the most amazing straight and white teeth. I am absolutely thrilled with the result and can now confidently smile no longer feeling embarrassed or awkward about my teeth
The whole team at the practice are lovely – helpful and friendly.

Frequently asked questions

What is composite bonding?

Composite bonding is a cosmetic dental treatment to improve the appearance of a person’s smile, in terms of the shape and colour of teeth. It is ‘minimally invasive’, meaning no drilling, or anaesthetic is required. The dentist adds tooth-coloured composite material (a resin) to the surfaces and edges of teeth to make them appear more symmetrical and balanced.

When is composite bonding recommended?

Composite bonding is a great solution to fix minor imperfections in your teeth such as chips, small cracks or levelling out the edges of your teeth. It is quick, painless and doesn’t involve numbing.

Can composite bonding fix my crooked front teeth?

It depends on how misaligned your front teeth are. Your need to discuss your expectations with your dentist. Sometimes a short course of straightening with Invisalign aligners may be recommended (3 – 6 months depending on your case) before the final phase of composite bonding to balance the smile and add symmetry
