How it works?

Step by Step at your New Patient Consultation

1

Welcome and chat

We’ll start by getting to know you and your dental history. You can tell us about any concerns, pain, or goals for your smile.

2

Checking your teeth

Your dentist will look at each tooth and make a record of what’s there. This includes noting any fillings, crowns, or other dental work you’ve had before.

3

Checking your gums

We’ll gently examine your gums and soft tissues to make sure they’re healthy and to spot any early signs of gum disease or soft tissue problems.

4

Photographs and X-rays

Your dentist usually will take some clinical photographs and routine X-rays, which are included within the consultation fee. These images allow us to carry out a thorough assessment.

5

Personalised treatment options

Your dentist will explain any findings and discuss any treatment recommendations with you. You will be given a personalised treatment plan with options presented in a clear and considered way, so you feel fully informed and confident in any decisions you choose to make.

6

Next Steps

At this point your dentist will hand you over to the Reception team who can schedule your next appointment, arrange finance for you or answer any questions you have.

Before your New Patient Consultation

We’ll send your registration and medical history forms in advance to complete online at your convenience.

If you prefer, you’re welcome to complete them in our waiting room over a cup of tea or coffee – in which case please arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your appointment.

We have our own Patient Car Park at the rear of the building, accessible from New Park Road; Car Park postcode BH6 5AB

To reserve your consultation, we request a £50 deposit at the time of booking. This is fully refundable should you need to reschedule, provided you give us at least 48 hours’ notice.

Payment Options

Our reception team will be happy to discuss payment options to suit your personal situation best

  1. You can join our Membership Plans and take advantage of the 10% discount on the cost of your routine care (checkups & hygiene appointments) and any treatment you need
  2. You can ‘Pay As You Go’, appointment by appointment
  3. We can set up a Finance plan for you that spread the cost of treatment over a longer time frame. Finance is available for amounts starting at £500 up to £60,000 and for periods from 3 months up to 5 years

Note: At the time of booking, a 30% fully refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. In the event you need to reschedule, this is fully refundable, provided you give us 48 hours notice

Nervous Patients

We are delighted to welcome nervous patients and are proud of having transformed many previously nervous patients to confident regular attenders.

We’re very understanding that visiting the dentist can be a traumatic experience for some people, usually due to past childhood experiences. Avoiding your dental appointments can however be very detrimental to your long term oral health.

So please let us know if you are feeling nervous.

We strive to make every patient feel welcome and relaxed. We offer long appointment times, discuss your treatment options in detail in advance and proceed with your treatment at a pace that is comfortable for you.

IV Sedation

If you feel your anxiety is particularly strong, we can offer IV sedation. We work with 3H, the Dental Sedation Specialists, who can be booked in advance so you can have your dental treatment carried out while sedated and supervised by a fully qualified anaesthetist.

We can also recommend a programme of CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) to help you with your dental phobia, before you commence your dental treatment with us. After your CBT sessions, a first step is to come in person and to see the surgery and say hello to your dental team before we even book your initial appointment. We have had much success with this approach and have been able to help many dental phobic patients.

What our Patients say about us

Lovely practice with gentle kind and professional staff. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Tim and his team are excellent. Painless no rush conservative care in the smart new practice.

A. Simpson

All the staff are lovely, as a very nervous patient i felt at ease . On my first visit I felt so relaxed I could have fallen asleep!!! Never ever have I been that relaxed in a dentist before.

Caroline L.

I have been with the practice for less than a year, luckily, other than routine checks, I have not had a lot done. Last Friday morning one of my (front) teeth snapped right off. I called, hoping to make an appointment sometime soon, reception were fantastic, understood and sympathised and I was sitting in Tim Doyle’s chair a couple of hours later. World-class service, thanks guys!

G. Hewison

Kind, thoughtful and professional. I’m so glad my friend recommended this dentist. The reception team put you at your ease straight away. The hygienist is so kind and the dentistry team are kind and professional.
