Dental Check-Ups We recommend dental check-ups every 6 months

Regular dental check-ups are important for maintaining good oral health and for finding issues early and preventing these from escalating into painful and costly problems.

Our monthly membership plans cover the cost of your routine dental checkups & hygiene appointments.

Importance of attending your routine dental check-ups

Discovering Cavities

Cavities often develop without pain, meaning early-stage decay can only be detected via clinical examination or digital X-rays

Gum Health

Early gum disease (gingivitis) is reversible, but left unchecked, it can progress to irreversible bone and tooth loss (periodontitis)

Oral Cancer Check

Every routine check-up includes a thorough screening of the soft tissues to detect early signs of oral cancer, which can save lives

Existing Dental Work Check

Dentists check old fillings, crowns, and implants for micro-leakage or structural weakness before they fail completely

Overall Health

Chronic oral inflammation and bacteria are scientifically linked to systemic conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, strokes, and Alzheimer's Disease

Saves you £ in the long-term

Catching a problem early usually means a simple direct filling rather than an invasive root canal, onlay, or extraction.

At Dentistry on the Grove, we provide a wide range of general and cosmetic dental treatment including implants, root canal and gum treatments for patients across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the surrounding areas.

I’ve known this practice for a long time now and have just had my routine visits to see the hygienist, and to see Dr Mike, a new dentist I hadn’t met before. Both appointments were good and everything was explained to me professionally and with care. All the staff are caring and professional

M. Griffin

Excellent service from the dentistry, first class premises and first class administration. My wife and I followed Tracey from our dentists in Brockenhurst. She is the best dentists we have ever had. very professional, very caring and explains every process clearly. The practice is very modern

P. Boynton

Finally a Dentist which works how it should. Efficient, the latest broad range of care, up to date equipment and tea and coffee. Not to mention fantastic dentists who ‘get you’ and don’t hurt. Highly recommend them

JC

Lovely practice with gentle kind and professional staff. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Tim and his team are excellent. Painless no rush conservative care in the smart new practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common questions we get asked.

Can I see the same dentist each time?

We aim to provide continuity of care wherever possible, so you can usually continue seeing the same clinician for routine appointments and ongoing treatment.

How often should I see a hygienist?

The frequency of hygiene appointments varies depending on your oral health and risk of gum disease. Many patients benefit from hygiene visits every six months, while others with gum disease may require more regular maintenance appointments. Your dentist or hygienist will recommend how many hygiene maintenance appointments you should have, based on your oral health and gum measurements.

Do you have Membership plans?

Yes, we have membership plans to take care of your routine dental & hygiene appointments that also offer a discount on treatment

Will I get a treatment plan before starting?

Yes. We explain the recommended treatment, likely timescales and costs in advance so you can make an informed decision before going ahead.

Do you treat Children?

Yes, we treat the children of registered patients of the practice.

Do you accept nervous patients?

Yes. We regularly support nervous patients and take a calm, step-by-step approach so you feel informed, in control and comfortable throughout treatment.

What if I need an emergency appointment?

If you are in pain or have a dental emergency, contact the practice as soon as possible and we will do our best to arrange prompt advice and care.
